| having a more indepth background in Dynamics than me (Chemical). However let me make a couple points: 1) do you recall ever seeing any of the automotive press back in the early 90's make a claim that they achieved better test results in the handling tests using sport mode, vs. touring? I certainly don't and if anything I recall observations made that the sport setting didn't actually make an improvement (the stiff ride just makes one *think* you're handling better, they commented). 2) I myself have tested this in my earlier autocross days (before I had aftermarket suspension). I got ZERO improvement with sport mode and if anything my times might have been slightly better in touring mode (go figure eh). The ONLY way I was able to break a plateau and squeak further improvement out of my car's setup was to use the TECH *tweak* ---> LINK: La-Z-Link ^^^ That actually did work and make a noticeable improvement for me. Yes the switch works, yes it technically does something. The oem 2-way switch does adjust the shock damping. However in terms of actually improving the car's overall handling characteristics, you can't just indiscriminately turn up the shock damping on all four corners to some arbitrary amount and expect everything to be suddenly better. Its not necessarily. This is something that you may not truly believe for yourself until you give aftermarket adjustable shocks a try and then you'll be able to really "tune" your handling bias/setup. Just flicking the oem 2-way switch is not "tuning" anything, IMHO.
